Managing item availability
Run out of paneer mid-service? Toggle an item off and it disappears from the QR menu instantly — guests can only order what you can actually serve.
What you'll accomplish
You'll mark an item as sold out, see it hidden from the live menu, and turn it back on when you restock — without deleting or rebuilding anything.
Before you start
- You're on a Pro plan or above (real-time item availability is a Pro feature).
- Your menu has items added.
Step-by-step guide

Open the menu or inventory view
Go to Menu in the sidebar, or use the Availability shortcut from the dashboard for a quick on/off list of every item.

Toggle an item off
Find the item and switch its availability toggle off. It immediately hides from your QR menu — guests browsing right now won't see it.

Confirm on the live menu
Open your menu URL in another tab and confirm the item no longer appears. Changes are instant; there's no publish step.

Get notified and turn it back on
When you restock, switch the toggle back on and the item returns to the menu. The owner is notified when an item is toggled out of stock, so the team stays in sync.
Common issues
I don't see the availability toggle.
Real-time availability control is a Pro-plan feature. On lower plans you can still hide an item by editing it; upgrade in Settings → Billing to get the quick toggle.
I turned an item off but it still shows.
Refresh the menu page — guests already mid-session keep their loaded menu until they reload. New visitors won't see the item.
Can I turn off a whole category?
Hide the category from the Menu Builder, or toggle off each item in it. Hiding the category removes its tab from the QR menu entirely.
