EPOS for Indian restaurants, curry houses and takeaways in the UK

It's Friday, 9pm. Your printer is the busiest person in the room.

Restrofi puts dine-in and collection in one kitchen queue and remembers which of tonight's tables are regulars. Allergens on every ticket arrive with our UK launch.

Step 1 of 2. Next you add a few details and pick a time; nothing is sent until you confirm.

No. 01 · The problem

Friday night, 9pm.

Table seven wants the bill. Three collection orders are due at quarter past. A rider is at the door for an order nobody printed. The tablet on the counter is for one app, the till is for another, and the kitchen is reading a third.

Restrofi puts dine-in and collection in a single kitchen queue today. Delivery-app orders join it when those integrations go live.

Allergens on every dish.

Tag each dish once against the 14 UK allergens. They follow it everywhere: the QR menu, the kitchen ticket, the takeaway label and the bill. When a guest's allergy is on file, the ticket says so.

It helps your team answer guests quickly. Your allergen information and labelling duties, including Natasha's Law for food prepacked for direct sale, stay with your business.

No. 03 · The bigger story

The till is the least interesting thing a till can do.

Every UK EPOS can take a payment. Restrofi is built to know your guests, tell you what to change, bring regulars back, and run on hardware you already have.

VAT, tips and card payments

VAT, Making Tax Digital, tips and card payments in the UK.

General information, not tax or legal advice. Rules and dates can change; check them for your business.

Making Tax Digital for VAT applies to VAT-registered businesses: VAT records are kept digitally and returns are filed through MTD-compatible software. Restrofi is not MTD filing software. VAT-ready bills arrive with our UK launch, and on your demo we'll go through the sales reports your accountant or bookkeeping software would use.

Under the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023, tips, gratuities and service charges must be passed to staff in full and shared fairly. With launch, Restrofi shows an optional service charge clearly on the bill. Your tipping policy and how tips are shared stay with your business; this is not legal advice.

Card payments arrive with launch, and which card machines and payment providers are supported will be confirmed before then. There is no card-terminal contract with Restrofi and nothing to lease: it runs on Android tablets and phones, a Windows PC with Restrofi Connect, and standard thermal printers.

For curry houses and Indian takeaways, the menu side works today: variants and add-ons for spice levels and portion sizes, veg marks, combos, and order notes such as "no onion" printed on every kitchen ticket. Collection and dine-in share one queue sorted by due time.

No. 04 · Pricing, in pounds

FAQ

Questions from UK restaurants

Is Restrofi available in the UK now?
Partly. The core EPOS (QR ordering, KOTs and the kitchen display, tables and collection orders, the Android staff app, inventory and reports) works today and runs restaurants in India every day. We're opening in the UK with a small group of founding restaurants; pricing in pounds, VAT-ready bills, allergen tags and card payments arrive with launch and are not live yet.
Does it handle VAT and Making Tax Digital?
VAT-ready bills arrive with our UK launch; they are not live today. Restrofi is not Making Tax Digital filing software: MTD for VAT applies to VAT-registered businesses, and your returns still go through your accountant or your own MTD software. On your demo we'll go through the reports your accountant would want from Restrofi.
Can we show allergens on every dish?
With launch. Tagging dishes with the 14 major allergens, shown on the QR menu and printed on KOTs, arrives with the UK launch. It helps your team answer guests quickly, but your allergen information and labelling duties, including Natasha's Law for food prepacked for direct sale, stay with your business.
How do tips and service charge work under UK law?
Tips, gratuities and service charges must be passed to staff in full under the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023, and shared fairly. With launch, Restrofi shows an optional service charge clearly on the bill; your tipping policy and how tips are shared stay with your business. This is not legal advice.
Which card machines will Restrofi work with?
Card payments are part of the UK launch and are not live today. Which card machines and payment providers are supported will be confirmed before launch, and there is no card-terminal contract with Restrofi. Tell us what you use now on your demo.
How much will Restrofi cost?
Founding pricing in GBP, per site, is shared on your demo call; it is not published on this page. Founding partners keep those terms locked for their first year.
What happens to our data?
Your restaurant's data belongs to you. It travels over encrypted connections, only your team can see it, and we never sell it. On your demo call we'll walk you through where data is hosted and how we handle UK GDPR for your organisation.
What hardware do we need, and how long does setup take?
No special hardware. Restrofi runs in a web browser and on Android: Android phones and tablets for staff and the kitchen display, Windows PCs with Restrofi Connect for counter billing and auto-printing, and standard thermal printers for KOTs and bills. For UK founding partners, onboarding starts when we launch here and our team does it with you in UK hours; in India, most restaurants are running within a week of their demo. Support is on WhatsApp and email, in UK time, from launch.
