What is QR code ordering for restaurants?
QR code ordering is a contactless ordering system where each restaurant table has a unique QR code on a tent card or sticker. Guests scan the code with their smartphone camera, which opens a branded digital menu in the browser — no app download required. They browse the menu, customise items with variants and notes, choose a payment method, and confirm the order.
The confirmed order arrives at the kitchen display and dashboard in under one second. Because every QR code is pre-tagged with a table number, orders are automatically assigned to the correct table without any manual entry by staff.
How it works
From setup to first order in under 30 minutes.

Simple for guests. Simpler for your kitchen.
Guests scan, browse, and place orders from their phone — no app, no account needed. Orders land on your KDS instantly. When they're ready to leave, they pay at your counter however you collect — cash, your UPI QR, card machine. Restrofi never touches the money.
Common questions about QR ordering
No app download is required. Restrofi QR ordering works in any mobile browser — iOS Safari, Android Chrome, Firefox, and Samsung Internet. Guests scan the QR code with their phone camera and the menu opens immediately.
Guests place their order digitally via the QR menu and pay at the counter when they're done — cash, your existing Paytm or PhonePe QR, card machine, or however you normally collect payment. Restrofi does not process payments; we simply track which tables have open orders so your staff knows who to collect from.
Each QR code is generated with a table number embedded. When a guest scans and orders, the table number is automatically sent with the order to the kitchen dashboard and KDS — no manual input needed from staff.
Yes. Guests can add per-item notes (e.g. 'less spicy', 'extra naan'), choose from variants like size or preparation style, and add on extras like raita or papad — all within the same order flow.
