When a guest places an order, Restrofi saves it in the cloud and pushes a print job down an encrypted, outbound-only relay to the Connect agent running on your billing PC. The agent renders the ticket and sends it straight to your USB thermal printer, no person in the loop.

What is Restrofi Connect?

Restrofi Connect is a lightweight desktop agent that links your restaurant's thermal printers to Restrofi. It runs quietly in the background on your Windows or macOS billing PC and listens for new orders. The moment one arrives, it prints the kitchen order ticket (KOT) to the kitchen and the bill to the counter, automatically, without anyone touching the computer.

Because the agent connects out to a secure print relay, you never open ports or expose your PC to the internet. If the machine briefly loses Wi-Fi, jobs queue and print as soon as it reconnects, and the till keeps billing offline. Connect works with standard ESC/POS thermal printers over USB, LAN or Bluetooth, in 58mm or 80mm, so there's usually no new hardware to buy, and a browser-print fallback covers every other device in the meantime. Restrofi Connect: common questions

Which operating systems does Restrofi Connect support?
Restrofi Connect runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 and on macOS 11 or later. Every plan also includes a browser-print fallback that works on any device, so you can print even before installing Connect.
What printers work with Restrofi Connect?
Standard ESC/POS thermal receipt printers in 58mm (2-inch) or 80mm (3-inch) width — the norm for restaurant KOTs and bills — connected over USB, LAN/Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth once paired in the operating system. That includes Epson TM-series, TVS RP-series and most generic thermal printers. Dot-matrix and impact printers installed in Windows are supported through a plain-text mode.
What happens if my billing PC goes offline?
Nothing is lost. Print jobs queue safely while the PC is offline and print automatically the moment it reconnects, and the Connect till keeps billing offline and syncs back when the internet returns. You can see the queued-job count for each device in your dashboard. The browser-print fallback is always available as a backup too.
Is the connection secure? Do I need to open ports?
No ports to open. The Connect agent makes an outbound, encrypted connection to Restrofi's print relay — the same way your browser connects to a website. Your PC never accepts inbound connections, so there's no new attack surface on your network.
Can kitchen, bar and bill tickets go to different printers?
Yes. A single Connect installation can manage several printers and route each document by role: kitchen KOTs, bar KOTs (when the bar station is on) and counter bills. An order with food and drinks prints the food to the kitchen printer and the drinks to the bar printer.
Can I stop some items, or all KOTs, from printing automatically?
Yes. Mark items such as bottled water as No KOT and they are left off kitchen tickets. The Print KOT automatically switch turns automatic kitchen tickets off for an outlet that works from a KDS screen, while the manual Print KOT button stays available.
Is Restrofi Connect required for QR ordering?
No. QR ordering and the browser KDS work without Connect. Connect adds automatic thermal printing and a desktop till.
Does Restrofi Connect cost extra?
No. Restrofi Connect is included with both paid plans: Premium (₹699 per outlet per month, or ₹6,999 for the first year on yearly billing, then ₹8,388 per year) and Chain (from ₹9,999 per month for up to 5 outlets, plus ₹1,499 per extra outlet). Pair as many billing PCs as you need and connect your existing printers — there's no separate hardware contract or per-printer fee.
