Connecting WhatsApp order updates
Send order confirmations, ready alerts, and delivery updates to customers from your own WhatsApp Business number — automatically, with no message typing.
What you'll accomplish
You'll connect your WhatsApp Business number to Restrofi, choose which order events trigger a message, and send a test update.
Before you start
- You've enabled the WhatsApp add-on (₹299 per outlet per month, includes 500 utility messages per outlet).
- A WhatsApp Business number you control (it keeps working for personal chats alongside Restrofi).
- Access to the phone or Meta Business account for the verification step.
Step-by-step guide

Open WhatsApp settings
From your dashboard, go to WhatsApp in the sidebar (or Settings → WhatsApp). You'll see the connection status and the embedded setup.

Connect via Meta's Embedded Signup
Click Connect WhatsApp Business and complete Meta's official Embedded Signup. Your number works for personal chats and Restrofi messages at the same time — companion devices like WhatsApp Web are unlinked during connection and can be re-linked right after.

Choose which events send a message
Toggle each order event independently — order received, accepted, ready, delivered, payment reminder. Keep the ones you want and turn off the rest.

Collect customer consent
Indian law and Meta's policy require customer opt-in. Restrofi collects consent in the order flow automatically, and customers can reply STOP to opt out any time.

Send a test message
Place a test order with your own phone number to confirm the confirmation message arrives from your business number, branded as your restaurant.

Monitor usage and quality
Your dashboard shows live message usage against your plan's monthly inclusion and your WhatsApp account quality rating. Restrofi pauses sending if quality drops to protect your number.
Common issues
Will my existing WhatsApp Business app stop working?
No. Coexistence keeps your app working for personal chats while Restrofi handles automated messages from the same number. Re-link WhatsApp Web after connecting if needed.
What if I run out of included messages?
Usage is visible in your dashboard. The WhatsApp add-on includes 500 utility messages per outlet per month. Marketing messages and any overage draw from prepaid credit packs (₹250, ₹500, or ₹1,000) that never expire — so there are no surprise bills.
My customers aren't receiving messages.
Confirm the event toggle is on, the customer opted in, and your account quality isn't paused. If all look fine, email [email protected].
