Creating and naming tables
Add your floor layout so every order arrives tagged with the right table. Tables are the foundation for QR ordering and the kitchen display.
What you'll accomplish
You'll add your tables, name them in a way your staff recognise, set seating capacity, and be ready to generate a QR code for each.
Before you start
- You have an active Restrofi account.
- A rough idea of your floor layout — how many tables and any zones (indoor, terrace, etc.).
Step-by-step guide
- 1
Open the Tables page
From your dashboard, click Tables in the left sidebar. You'll see your current tables or an empty state.
- 2
Add a table
Click Add Table and give it a clear name — Table 1, T-01, or a zone label like Terrace 3. Use names your floor staff will instantly recognise on the order screen.
- 3
Set seating capacity (optional)
Add the number of covers a table seats. This powers per-cover analytics later and helps you read occupancy at a glance.
- 4
Repeat for your whole floor
Add one row per table across all zones. There's no limit. Group naming by zone (Indoor 1–6, Terrace 1–4) keeps a large floor organised.
- 5
Generate QR codes
Once tables are added, generate and print a QR code for each from the same page — every QR is pre-tagged with its table so orders arrive labelled. See the QR codes guide for printing tips.
Common issues
Orders arrive without a table name.
That happens when a guest opens the menu link directly instead of scanning a table QR. The table is embedded in the QR URL — make sure each table's printed QR is the one generated for it.
Can I rename a table later?
Yes. Edit the table name any time from the Tables page. The existing QR keeps working — only the display name changes.
I run takeaway only — do I need tables?
No. For takeaway/delivery you can enable those channels in Settings and skip tables. Tables are for dine-in QR ordering.
